Sharing your map

Share a map as a public link, complete with a live, interactive viewer. Open the Share dialog from the editor.

Getting a link

Making a map creates a shareable link right away. To copy the link and get a QR code, you'll need to be signed in. Signed-out users see the link masked with a prompt to sign up.

Visibility

Choose who can find your map:

• Public (default) — anyone can view it, and search engines may index it. Public maps include preview cards for social and search.
• Unlisted — anyone with the link can view it, but it is not intended to appear in search engines. This requires Pro or Pro Plus.
• Private — the public link does not display the map. This requires Pro or Pro Plus.

Password-protected sharing is coming soon.

Managing the link

• Rotate link — issues a fresh URL and retires the old one. Use it if a link has been exposed somewhere it should not be.
• Revoke link — turns off the map's URL and every embed of it at once.
• Let viewers export — off by default; turn it on to let viewers download the map as PNG, PDF, KML, or GeoJSON.

The public viewer

Your shared map opens in a clean, read-only viewer with:

• The map title and an interactive map.
• Zoom and fullscreen controls.
• Any saved views you added.
• An export control when Let viewers export is enabled.
• A "Made with Mapize" badge. Pro and Pro Plus owners can remove it in Account settings.

Quick filtering and find-a-place search are optional embed controls; they are not enabled in the standard public viewer.
